Tips on cleaning your Hair Salon Efficiently

When owning a Hair Salon and working with people, hygiene is the science that deals with the prevention of disease and the preservation and improvement of health. This can include personal hygiene and/or public hygiene. Both are essential and have a direct bearing on your own well-being as well as your clients in the salon.

To protect yourself, your clients, and public health especially during these COVID-19 times, you should know when, why, and how to clean and keep a safe, sterile salon and station. This will set you apart in the natural hair competition.

RULES TO LIVE BY:

  1. Keep all containers containing hair products and/or tools labeled, cleaned periodically, and covered.

  2. Wash your own hands thoroughly before and after each treatment and client or spray your hands with antibacterial disinfectant.

  3. Only use clean and sterile towels when working with each client.

  4. Wash tools and area of services with hot soapy water, and disinfect the area for the next use.

  5. Always keep all products in good, clean condition, otherwise, periodic audits of products are necessary to keep products and tools in good standing.

  6. Wear clean uniforms at all times with the appropriate dress code and hygiene when working with clients.

With these rules in mind, you'll always create a level of high standard of hygiene in your salon which is vital to prevent the risks of cross-contamination.
